About Lorne Community Development Corporation (Lorne CDC)
The Lorne CDC is the innovator of Think Local First in the RM of Lorne. Think Local First is a strategic initiative to foster local development in a variety of ways.

Think Local Youth is a bursary program designed to assist the further education goals of graduating high school seniors who have a desire to return to our community. Currently, the Lorne CDC offers bursaries for Think Local Youth in Trades and Think Local Youth in Health.

Think Local, Shop Local is a yearly event that coordinates with local businesses to encourage shopping locally. Winners receive prize packages to local businesses by collecting stamps each time they shop at a participating business.

Think Local Beauty is a matching grant program for community organizations who undertake beautification projects in the communities of Lorne. Projects that have received funding in the past include the Mariapolis sign project, the Bruxelles community park project, the St. Alphonse church grounds project and the Swan Lake rail bed park project.

On November 4, 2011, the Lorne CDC will be hosting its first Appreciation Event honouring Century Farms in the RM of Lorne. The event will also feature guest speaker, Elaine Froese.

In addition to our many activities, the Lorne CDC strives to be an on-going support to local businesses, organizations and communities by providing information and referrals to appropriate agencies where needed.
